I have researched many tutors & centers in our area, and we felt Ask Me Math with tutor Naji was the right fit for us. I highly recommend, to at least try one class with Naji. A few things we liked about Ask Me Math:
+ Their flexibility, and no pressure approach was a big plus for us. Our son also had other extracurriculars, and sometimes afterschool clubs, so flexibility is needed. They do not force you into a contract or pressure you to buy & finish a certain number of classes within a limited time frame. Instead, every month we are sent an email to see which days we would like to register for classes. It all depends on the needs of the student. You can also book directly online as well.
+ Naji is patient, and easy to communicate with. Her lessons are highly customizable. She also writes a summary of what is taught in class, so that parents are always in the loop. If there are notes from class, they will be uploaded and available for students as well.
+ We appreciate that they upload previous class recordings for students, so if students needed to re-watch certain concepts, they can.
+ They offer online classes, which is great since we live far from North Van.

Naji was so great, I had tutoring for Pre-Calc 11. She was a great tutor and she really helped me raise my grade!

Naji is a very skilled and effective math tutor. My daughter, in Gr 10, started seeing her in January to fill in gaps of curriculum that hadn't been covered in school due to covid and due to inconsistencies with teacher absences and a lot of substitute teachers over the years. Typically my daughter would not be interested or motivated to see a tutor but Naji has such a great way with her, is extremely well organized and I never hear a complaint. In fact, I think my daughter looks forward to the sessions as she sees her math mark and confidence increasing! If you can get a tutoring session with Naji, grab it. I believe Naji would be quite discerning about the other tutors she hires as well. I highly recommend Naji and her Ask Me Math team.

Passionate and caring teachers. They understand students' needs and customize their teaching style, accordingly. They provide an update on your kid's progress after each session. You can easily track your kid's progress, strong points and areas of improvement. My son is always looking forward to attending Ask Me Math online classes. He is happy and joyful during and after the class. Something I didn't expect to happen in Math class. Very satisfied with Ask Me Math and strongly recommend them.

I am super happy with the results I experienced within only couple of months of using their services and my daughter was even invited to extended math program at school. As a mom I also appreciate the detailed document that is shared with me right after each session with all details about class activities, subjects covered, evaluation and review of past session’s homework, list of homework for next session and a report note from teacher about the session and how my daughter performed. Also, a recorded video of the class is shared with my daughter for future reference which is awesome. Naji has a significant presence in the process of every student and is so supportive, accessible and professional with what she does and she personally is in contact with parents to know about their concerns and needs and pays attention to all details. Great team and lots of effort behind the scenes that makes this online experience a very practical and beneficial one. Thank you ASKMEMATH 👌

My daughter has excelled at math since beginning tutoring at Ask Me Math. She enjoys math now and has a much deeper understanding. I would highly recommend Naji and her team for any help your child might require or even just for a fun challenge.

My son has had difficulties in school since Grade 1, I always knew he was bright and capable, but never understood why he was struggling so much. When he got into grade 10, and his marks really mattered, I was desperate to get him some help in Math. I was referred to Naji by a friend of mine who is a teacher as well, who also had great things to say about how her son had benefitted from working with Naji.

I listened in to several of my son's sessions and found that Naji's ability to communicate clearly and positively, to be a good listener and to adapt to my son' learning style, has really re-engaged him again in Math, and now he is excelling at Math and confident in his abilities. I wish I had done this earlier as I would have avoided many years of struggle for both of us. I would highly recommend Naji and her team as Math Tutors.

For New Students

We suggest to book a session with us to get to know the AskMeMath friendly environment prior to booking regular sessions.

This session will allow the student to learn about our teaching style, and will allow us to determine their current understanding of the topics and what subjects are giving them troubles.

For younger students (grades 5 to 8), we ask them to challenge us by telling us what they currently don’t like/understand in Math and that we will make them like/understand it by the end of the hour.

Style of Tutoring

Naji, the founder of AskMeMath, is making sure all tutors follow the same style of tutoring.

Our style of tutoring is for the student to accept us and how we can make math simple and fun for them. We want them to bring in their current and past work for the school year, and tell us in their own words what they are having trouble with.

We will then assess what the core deficiencies are with their understanding, and start from there to bring them up to the level they should be at (and beyond).

Students that get tutored by us will be expected to put the effort forward to learn how to help themselves and develop proper studying habits, as we will assign homework and if they don’t complete it we will question them on it and want to find out why they aren’t putting forth the effort needed to get to the mathematics level that they should want to be at.
